Valentijn Overeem was scheduled to face-off against fellow Strikeforce veteran Mike Kyle at the main event of Championship Fighting Alliance‘s “CFA 11″ on Friday, May 24 at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables FL, but has been forced to withdraw from the fight after sustaining a rib injury during training. Bellator and UFC veteran Travis Wiuff will replace Overeem in the main event.

“Everyone at CFA wishes Valentijn Overeem a fast recovery from the rib injury he incurred this week,” said Championship Fighting Alliance CEO Jorge de la Noval in a press release on May, 10. “He had to pull out of this fight, but fortunately we have found a replacement. I’m pleased to announce that Travis Wiuff has agreed to fight Mike Kyle and that the main event of CFA 11 is a now a rematch that both of these fighters have wanted for years. Their first fight in 2010 was ruled a no-contest and now, three years later, they finally have a chance to settle the score and to do it for all their fans live on AXS TV.”

Wiuff comes into “CFA 11″ with a 68-17-0 record, but is on a three-fight losing streak which includes losing by knockout to Ryan Martinez in the first round of Bellator 93 earlier this year.

Kyle and Wiuff have faced off once before in 2010, with the fighting ending after the second round as a no-contest when Kyle hit Wiuff with an uppercut that landed after the bell. Now both fighters will get the rematch that they have wanted for over three years.

The co-main event will feature Fallon Fox, who recently came out publicly as transgender, up against Allanna Jones in the CFA 145-pound women’s tournament semi-finals.

Also on the main card will be a bout between Elvin Leon Brito and CFA interim featherweight champion Sean Soriano.

“CFA 11″ will also feature CFA and Bellator veteran Luis Palomino fighting against Robert Washington, as well as Miami native Alexis Vela facing off against Czar Sklavos.

The fights at “CFA 11″ can be seen live on AXS TV at 9:00 p.m. ET as part of its Friday Night Fights series. Tickets are still on sale for the May 24th promotion and can be purchased from Ticketmaster starting at $25.00 for general admission and $35.00 for reserved seating. Prelim fights for “CFA 11″ start at 6:00 p.m. with doors at the BankUnited Center opening at 5:30 p.m.
